Taking up tomorrow's computing challenges in a connected world: maintaining performance progress while curtailing power consumption.
New computing technologies
Leti and Liten, both CEA Tech institutes, developed the electronics and algorithms required to measure the internal temperature of a battery cell by estimating electrical impedance. The purpose of the solution is to detect the early signs of thermal runaway in embedded lithium-ion batteries.
The 3D-NoC network-on-chip developed by Leti, STMicroelectronics, and Mentor Graphics under a project coordinated by IRT Nanoelec offers 20% to 40% less energy consumption and higher speeds than other NoCs.
Leti, a CEA Tech institute, implemented clock-mesh technology on a high-performance computing (HPC) circuit for an industrial R&D partner.
EUROSERVER, a leading EU-funded research project, is paving the way toward lower energy consumption in data centers. Based on the concept of chiplets, where multiple silicon subsystems are mounted in an integrated device, along with an associated new groundbreaking system architecture, the project has enabled more energy-efficient servers and has even inspired startups motivated by the new technology.
